Our Story
Since 1994, Detectable Warning Systems has been a pioneer in
manufacturing and providing innovative and durable detectable warnings. Our portfolio of installer-friendly products is comprised of offerings for both surface applied and cast-in-place applications. All of our products are made in the USA and provide ADA-compliant tactile warning surfaces for visually impaired pedestrians to contractors, cities, counties, transit authorities and other agencies.
After years of contract manufacturing, Mar-Bal, Inc. acquired AlertTile, Inc. and Detectable Warning Systems in 2018. These two companies now operate as one company under the Detectable Warning Systems brand. As a vertically integrated company, Mar-Bal ensures the quality of DWS products by means of in-house engineering and design, compounding, molding, and warehousing. Mar-Bal’s management of all steps of the design, manufacturing, and order fulfillment process guarantees consistency in product availability, ease-of-installation, panel durability, customer support, and transparent order fulfillment and tracking.
